How does it feel to know that you are dying? A question you may ask today’s Dose Of Bliss interviewee, Matt Oliveira. Matt, born with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system, and other organs in the body, has a life expectancy of 38.

“I kind of feel like I’m in that Black Mirror episode, but I can see everyone’s clock above their head, and it’s just ticking; I hear a little tick, tick. I know how short life is,” he explained.

Having that awareness, The 27-year-old has decided to create a lifestyle revolving around his passion for traveling and is currently a flight attendant who chronicles his adventures on YouTube… sometimes having his followers choose his location minutes before his flight takes off. He calls it Mystery Flights.

“My mom suggested that I should become a flight attendant because you can get paid to travel and see the world. I started doing it, and I was like, you guys are gonna pay me to go to these places that I’ve never been before and get to see the world, and when I’m not working, I can fly anywhere in the world for free? Yes, sign me up! “

Matt’s diagnosis is just that…a diagnosis. It hasn’t stopped him from getting a job, playing sports traveling the world, or even scuba diving deep in the ocean! And he inspires thousands on his YouTube to just get up and lead a life of adventure. So what is stopping you from living your dreams right now too?

The reality is, we are all dying. NONE of us know our life expectancy.

So, how does it feel to know that you are dying? You may have thought that question was for Matt, but it’s really for you.

“Having an awareness that life is short, I kind of feel a little lucky in a weird twisted way, to be honest.” He adds, “A lot of people go about their day because they think they are going to live to be one hundred, and I know my life expectancy is a little bit shorter, so I’m trying to squeeze the most out of life and do the craziest things.”

We all have only one moment, and that is right now.
